Birth Story
November 16, 2012 at 12:03pm.
My son was finally born. His name is Angel Ricardo Gonzalez-Mendivil. Let me tell you my story of how my birth story was. It started four days before I truly gave birth to my Angel. After taking care of my body during my pregnancy and after carrying him and cherishing every moment with him inside my tummy the moment has finally came where I became frightened and excited at the same time. It was about five o’clock when I got to the Aspen Valley Hospital. From there the nurses did their usual check ups on me. Although my contractions were painful, my cervix was still not open enough for my child to be born and so I had to walk all over the hospital a couple of times until they check how much I have opened. After a few hours of walking and resting I was finally eight centimeters open and so after checking they suddenly broke my water without consent and finally the contractions became worse and stronger. During my powerful contractions I was in so much pain I started to think, “wow I can’t believe women have to go through this, this is the worst pain I have ever felt!” Of course I was screaming, crying and worried if anything went wrong. I didn’t think I would get the epidural but, once they broke my water the pain was too intense and so were my muscles. It was now time for Angel to come out and see the world he is going to grow up in. After a few pushes I finally heard a cry and saw my little angel. Right when he was out he instantly opened his eyes and I melted when I saw his gaze looking towards me. That was the most connected bond I ever felt with just a stare. Once they handed him to me we had the longest bond and I was in tears of joy. I still couldn’t believe that I was now a mother and that he was finally in my arms with me! To become a mother is the most amazing feel in the whole entire universe! There aren’t any words to describe how amazing it is! The love of a child and a mother is unbreakable! Now that my son is two months I feel mature, responsible, and always needed for my Angel. To end this indescribable, summary of my labor, I have wrote a poem for my Angel when he is older.
Angel Ricardo Gonzalez Mendivil
You’re almost here
Almost in my arms
Here for me to
love you
Here for me
to take care of you
Here for me to
protect you
Here for me to be
there for you when you need
me.
I will be someone
who you can accept
Someone who you can always
trust
Someone you can always
cry to
Someone who will always
defend you
And someone who will
always love you!
I will be here with you
from the beginning
‘Till the end of
forever.
You are my world now
you will always be my world.
I will not lie to you
I will do my best
to show you what’s
right and wrong
I’ll teach you all that I know.
Once you come to this
world
I cannot guarantee that
you won’t go through problems when
you are older.
I can’t guarantee that I
will always know the
answers to every
question.
Can’t guarantee that we
will survive successfully
in this world.
But, I can always guarantee
To Love you and Cherish you
For the rest of my life
and beyond.
I Love You Very Much
And I Hope You Will
Carry That In Your Heart
As You Start To Get Older.
